See that the request hasn't been resolved in the context of this thread. It would be great to have (something like) IPBlock added to OpenWRT. These lists have various formats and are sorted by different categories (e.g. to block) network traffic based on (automatically updated) lists. "allows users with no or basic knowledge of iptables to filter (e.g. I know PeerBlock (for Windows, formerly called PeerGuardian), and I heard of IPBlock / iplist for Linux, It would be great to have a IP blocking application in OpenWRT, especially for using file sharing applications. Posted: Thu 12:15 Post subject: IPBlock (PeerBlock) Search the wiki for Optware The Right Way. It is available with Fraters "Optware The Right Way" (otrw). In my case, I would not allow connections from those which wouldn't be from my country. So, I could choose the coutries from I wanted connections.

Some time ago I had something built that would allow me to block IPs from coutries didn't like. Is blocking them at the IP level advised?įirmware Version: Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r46733 std (05/21/21) Wouldn't it be better if these IP addresses somehow were auto-blocked after one too many attempts? How can I go about doing this with what you're discussing in this thread, I wouldn't mind manually adding them. Posted: Thu 20:55 Post subject: Block IP dropped portįor the last few days at about 1am to 8am here in NYC on my router, I have several Chinese IP addresses trying to connect to certain ports, they're not open and the connections are dropped. I don't want roommates using my cable connection/identity to surf p0rn. Right now I use keywords and urls with Policies but it is hardly anything compared to the access available on the net.

What is the code to enter on iptables command to block p0rn traffic on my network. Posted: Sat 2:24 Post subject: blocking p0rn on dd-wrt It doesn't seem like it would take much resource or is that the reason it hasn't been implemented? Makes p2p safer and helps protect you for a lot of things. Opendns is nice to block known porn sites, but I'd love to have the capability to block certain sites myself if I'm able to on my own network. I'd feel more comfortable blocking ip address on my router than on an individual computer.

There's something about blocking IP address on the router level that's great. It did have a dependancy on a kernel modules (ipt_) that wasn't part of the dd-wrt kernel (Anyone had any luck on compiling dd-wrt from source?Īnybody manage to get this working with dd-wrt? However, I did some accrost a linux v2.4 binary of MoBlock, that'll run on the 2.4 kernel. However, it's compiled to use the iptables from a linux v2.6 kernel, so it won't help us. You can use it using the ipkg-opt command (openWrt). You might want to do this sooner, than later because it appears that the next version of MoBlock will deprecate support for the linux v 2.4.X iptablesītw: MoBlock is offered as a package. Since, most WRT routers don't have alot of memory, this kinda fizzled out the enthusiasm for the port.īut if you're willing to use 16 megs to hold the exclusion list, the ping the people at MoBlock and ask'em to report it. There was an attempt by the author to have it work under OpenWRT, but the end result was that after the p2p file was processed by MoBlock, it would require atleast 16 megs of memory to hold the exclusion list. It's a linux implementation of PeerGuardian. Google around for a linux app call MoBlock. Are there any updates on this? This would defiantly be a reason for me to buy a new router (w/ USB support or something if necessary.) hmm, makes me wonder if i should look into the possibilities myself. Would be awesome if we could parse those files to hosts files so we can use them with DNSMasq.Īny updates on this? I had this same idea about a week ago, and have just gotten around to searching for it. maybe someone with some more knowledge of parsing such files can help you (and me, cause i'm curious) out. There's a whole topic about implementing the hosts file: with success. Integrated AdBlock, sounds nice (At least if it is as good as AdBlock in FireFox)įirmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (latest available) mega I was just thinking of posting this when I found the topic. Peerguardian also blocks some ad's which would make this really really nifty. It would be pretty cool if you can implement this.
